Reading / Language Arts / Spelling - This week there will only be 12 words and the spelling packet will be due Thursday. There will still be a practice test on Wednesday and final test on Thursday. This packet was sent home Friday, so students can have the extra time to study and complete packet.
There will be no Vocabulary list this week. We will be focusing on a number of different project and concepts. We will be writing paragraphs to compare and contrast Mulan the movie and Ballad of the Mulan. We will be completing our Chinese character stories. We also will be learning how to identify the main idea in a paragraph. We will continue to work on complete sentences and fragments.
Math - We are going to continue to review rounding. Please continue to practice with your child if he or she is struggling with that concept. We are going to start working with money. Students will learn to make change. Please have your child practice counting money at home. You can hand them a handful of change to count each night.
Science - Our plants have started to grow! We will begin to measure and observe our plants. We will also learn how to thin and transplant our plants. Try to bring in some seeds to share with your class. Make sure you put it in a plastic bag and write the name of the seed on a piece of paper.
